  12. El Monko and Son says If I knew how to operate all these fancy do-dads, I would post Son House's "Death Letter," and teach your ass a lesson the same way Daddy House schooled his young protege, Mr. Johnson. And then throw up the White Stripes ripping that shit at the Grammies (or maybe it was the MTV music awards) in 2004 (or maybe it was 2003). F'nA.

  14. kristiana says Ha! I've been on a Johnson kick lately...it happens from time to time. He's one of my faves. In fact, I've been waiting around at a crossroads but I guess the devil just don't see any potential in me.

  15. Cody B says I dug that vid..RJ did have that Rock and Roll vibe about him. But, in the spirit of gauntlet throwing, I say; Don't believe the hype. Charley (born Charlie) Patton is the King... Below Charley is my new obsession, Blind Willie McTell, who is rapidly moving up my imaginary blues charts. Until now I never saw how much Dylan got from Blind Willie McTell..I know Dylan has a couple of songs referencing him, but there seems to be a lot of other similarities (a conversational singing style). I'd like to hear what some of the Dylan scholars out there think. Blind Willie definitely had his twist on the Delta style, I guess 'cause he was from Hot lanta. Please feel free to tell me I'm full of shit..It was just my first impression after checking McTells' sides.

  19. Spike says Great post, Mr. Jonze. This might be the first Robert Johnson post in Moglandia. Some of his peers seem to have made their Mog debuts in the comments. It doesn't get much better than this.

  20. kristiana says Gosh, you're right about this being one of the firsts. There's the one from Jimmybear. I always just assumed someone must have gone on about him. Funny this post emerged at a time when I was on a kick. Yes, this was a great afternoon on mog!

  21. Spike says Keeping up with Mog is like swimming up a waterfall. Commenting on a post after it has quieted down is often the only option, but at least the previous commenter and the post-er will notice it.

  22. kristiana says exactly, great metaphor too.
