On the brink of greatness

Posted over 5 years ago
The Augie March album Strange Bird was one of my favorites of 2004. Thus, I was excited to see that the immensely talented Aussie band released a new full length in March. Moo, You Bloody Choir is another very good Augie March album. I chose "very good" over great, stupendous, fucking awesome and the like because I see them as a band poised for greatness, but not quite yet there. I have faith in the boys, so check them out and be ahead of the curve.

  2. LambCurry666 says Good question....broadly speaking it is adult folky, sometimes a little jazzy, rock music. The "Pitchfork review":http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/record_review/36666/Augie_March_Moo_You_Bloody_Choir found them reminiscent of Grant Lee Buffalo, which I think is an apt comparison. Glenn Richards' has a way with words much like my beloved Fran Reader of the TrashCan Sinatras. His voice is also pretty incredible, although to me it sounds a bit thinner here than it did on Strange Bird.
