Lame-o Funkin' Out - Disco Stylee ala Giorgio Moroder

Posted over 2 years ago
Giorgio Moroder, though best known as the producer of Donna Summer's disco hits, also produced some synth heavy disco-y numbers for Sparks, Three Degrees and Melissa Manchester. I have to say this song is Funk in name alone. I just wanted to post SOMETHING for Funky Friday, but was pressed for time to pull out something good. The only thing funky about Giorgio was his 'stache.

  1. Spencer Owen says I gotta say, I love "I Feel Love." It's really superb. Giorgio singing, though... man. Never heard that before. (Is that him?)

  2. Augusts1 says No wonder I've not heard of his solo stuff. The music is great(which is his forte) but his singing is just hideous, lmao!! Thanks for posting this.

  4. Mike the Knife says Bleah! And I'm a big fan of Giorgio's brief late-'70s Euro-disco recalibration of tongue-in-cheek L.A. art-rockers Sparks ("The #1 Song in Heaven").

  5. Jonh Ingham says Whoa! Visions of cute boys in tight satin shorts bumpin' down in a West Hollywood disco! That is an amazing collision of clever formula arrnagement and appalling non-vocals.
