Well, it's time to start the countdown clock and look forward to the coming of the new year. Despite all the insane happenings of the last year (economic collapse, violence, war, politics, etc.,etc.) I feel like people are, in general, pretty hopeful for 2009. We human beings are amazingly flexible critters and, even if we know things are going to get worse, if we can see a flickering light somewhere up in the distance, we can keep our chins up and keep on going. As one of my favorite astrologers says"Sometimes you have to breakdown to breakthrough." Boy, if that ain't true for the last year, I don't know what is.
Speaking of astrology, here's a New Year's gift to all of you - your 2009 astrological forecasts by Terrance Guardino, the Video Astrologer. (Yeah, yeah, I'm an astrology geek, but I don't take it that seriously. More of a passing interest. More like, "Things That Make You Go Hmmm?"). Scroll on down to find your sign.
Wishing you all peace and happiness in 2009 - and lots of wonderful music.

".....Is our hope in walnut shells worn round the neck with temple bells? Or deep within some cloistered walls where hooded figures pray in halls? Or from old books on dusty shelves? Or in the stars? Or in ourselves? Who will answer?"
>>>As sung by Ed Ames.
Ahh, very nice, DMD. Very nice.
Happy 09 to you!
Thanks! I wasn't really in the headspace for 2009 but that certainly helped the mood!!
Hey Nance! I hadn't been thinking about 09 much until the last two days. Mr. Astrologer Guy got me thinking about it more positively.
Happy New Year!
and a happy new year to you as well..........hope my stars are in the right place this next year. I think this past year they were not even in the sky
Cheers, my MinnieNapples Rawk Bro! I predict your stars will all come into alignment this year - and not in URanus. ;-) (sorry, cheap astrology joke).
Happy Oh-Niner.
Weird. As I watched him, I felt his eyes were following me around the room....
w00t! Libras! i can't wait to get out of my shell and have my clearance sale. he's right - quit job, incubated, leaving Cambodia, almost over heartbreak, and that was just December. i love it. bring on the major new chapter!
this was a great gift, my dearest. guilt-free happiness and inner peace to you. (;
Whoa, I'm not sure I'm ready for all that is forecasted on the Libra front! Then again, I'm kinda bored w/my life so bring it on, lol! I take it you're a libra yourself LMI!
I'm definitely ready for a new relationship though. I'm tired of being on my own.
If you want to wish upon a star, maybe you should get your own at

Mine is called Siriusly (ID: TYC 7342-79-1 in Scorpius, type GO with a magnitude of 9.9) and its motto is: "Don't you dare wish on me! Siriusly now!" Should you want to see it, its registration # is: 207386
Hey Ivy - His eyes ARE following you. Just you. ;-) I love Terrance, but his pronounciation of Saturn (as Sat-Trun) drives me nuts! Hope you had a good forecast.
PoePoe - It's time, isn't it, for us Libras. Here's lots of strength to you in the new year.
Gusty - Ready or not, here it comes. And I think that's a good thing.
Levek - Hey, we already know you're a supastar! ;-) That's quite awesome. I think I'd name mine Surely. Like "Surely you're not serious? Yes I am, and quit calling me Shirley!"
Very funny, Shirley. Ooops...
Hey, L.M.I.! Hope you're right with your positivity about 2009. And I really hope the astrologist is on the mark with his forecast, as it relates to my circumstances. I'm a bit of a skeptic, but his discussion of my sign and how it manifested in the last 10 years was strikingly accurate. And his subsequent take on the coming year sounded extremely relevent to my life and career - and heartening. I guess we'll see. Cheers!
Yea I guess we can't stop it, that's for sure!
Hah, sorry I missed this. My wife and I were just talking about how 2008 was OK for us, 'cause we didn't have the major, major issues of the past few years..only unemployment..Glad things are looking up star wise. Happy New Year LMI.
