SUTC: Jumpin' Bossa Jack -- It's a Chill
-
Artist:

Why, it sure is Gone Fishin' season 'round the ol' Mog-O-Sphere. Everyone seems to be out on summer vacation - including me. Now that the hurly-burly of the end of the school year, the beginning of the planting season, and the ongoing franticness of the job-of-work has mellowed, I just want to be out in the warm summer weather, soaking it up. I hope you are all getting a chance to get out and do some of your favorite wholesome and uplifting activities this month.
I'm beginning to believe that Jumpin' Jack Flash is one of thee most covered songs of all time. Really, who HASN'T covered this song? That list would be far shorter than the list of those who have. I came across this version on one of those ubiquitous downtempo/chill compiliations I picked up a garage sale (one of my favorite summer activities). But, because this was on the nice little Kinkysweet label, I knew it had some potential. Amazonics is some anonymous studio group assembled to lay down this smooth, bossa-style version of JJF. Makes me want to relax by the pool/ocean and call to the cabana boy for another drink and a reapplication of sunscreen.
Cheers!

Who has the guts to cover any Stones song - and do it well? I mean, other than Otis Redding. Still, this is mighty kewl in a Nouvelle Vague way.
Mais oui, Monsieur Mike. Bien sur.
I have this on a comp cd I picked up a while back, oh so good
