BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

I have loved Zooey Deschanel since her small but memorable part in Almost Famous, her voice a great surprise in the Jon Favreau film Elf.

Here is a track with her and M.Ward. A collaboration that began during filming will be released under She and Him expected this spring,

"I was doing a film called 'The Go-Getter,' and M. Ward was doing the soundtrack and the director Martin Hynes he wanted us to do a duet together and we met doing that and had so much fun, that M. asked to hear these demos that I had made - I write a lot of music, but I'm kind of shy about it. So he asked to hear it and asked if we could do something together cause it was fun and why not."

She has a nostalgic and old world voice that matches M. Ward well.

It does match well. I don't remember her from Almost Famous though. I'll have to look her up. I probably don't listen to the M Ward album enough. I love the video for Chinese Translation. The song is good too.

Yeah, nevermind about the Zooey thing. She's grown up a lot since that movie came out. :)

I agree, she has a delightfully mellow voice, understated, supple and tunefull.

Really. I didn't recognize the name at all, and then I didn't recognize her after I looked up a pic. I'm not sure why, 'cause I can see her in her eyes; other than that, she really looks totally different to me. I think my best memory of her in the movie is when she has her hair all up in curlers and she tells her brother that he'll be cool some day.

Zooey Deschanel is one of those very talented people who leave me nonplussed. I couldn't explain why. Perhaps her surname which she shares with Paul Deschanel, a 1920s' French president with mental problems.

(My mind makes odd associations at times)

that comparison is hilarious. well, if your guilty of odd associations, i apparently have trouble seeing the obvious! This will be fun confusion then between us ;-)

Really looking forward to this album. I've definitely got a celebrity crush on her, but regardless of that, she has a fantastic Cole Porter-era voice.

Hard to not love her. Her work as the po-mo version of Dorothy in "Tin Man," the current Sci-Fi Channel miniseries that puts a modern twist on "The Wizard of Oz," is up to her usual standards. And M. Ward is high on my playlist, especially Post-War. So, their collaboration? Can't wait for more.
