   robotanist says who is dj opie? what town he/she from? and, is independent the name of the record store, or an adjective describing the store? or is it just an independent conspiracy with the skate company, the independent music, and all this declaration of independents? :)

   vimthed says Dood, this song should be one of the top songs Nas has done to date. This ranks up there with It Ain't Hard to Tell, and Street Dreams! I'll answer the last comment. Independent is a local record store in Colorado, and the skate park was well....an indoor skate park/venue in Colorado Springs. DJ Opie is one half of The Butter Knuckles Crew, located in Denver. DJ Opie just constructed From the East to the West/ A Tribute to The Warriors, a compilation of songs, and script from the 70's classic "The Warriors" movie. DJ Opie is also known as Little 1ito, co-owner of Up Hill Productions. And the pic of the guy throwing up the deuce is yours truly, Vim Erato aka Vim the Dragon, other co-owner of Up Hill Productions, and the other Butter Knucklehead.
