Incredible. Pain of salvation's music is passionate and thought provoking, two things which are rarely seen together in the same band nowdays. Stylistically they are difficult to tag, sometimes the distortion and screaming makes me nod my head to "Metal, F*uck yeah!", at other times I'm moved to tears by a soft spoken voice singing about something profound. They avoid conforming to catagorized norms. But that doesn't matter - the music transends styles. If you're open minded and have a thing for philosophy, love amazing melodies and don't mind the occasional dissonance, check out Pain of Salvation. Be warned though, It takes a few listens to really get into it, but once you do..... you'll be able to deal with all that lousy "music" out there, because you'll know something honest and pure still exists.
