Beyond the Beat Generation - the 60's Underground

Posted about 1 year ago
Stumbled on a cool site today, "Beyond the Beat Generation":http://www.beyondthebeatgeneration.com/, a repository of orphaned and indie tracks from the 60's underground. I just glanced at their playlist (it's huge) and found stuff from ? & the Mysterians, the Animals, and the Argyles. The site has several streams (mostly 56k) from servers in the US and Europe. They've also got a treasury of video clips of such acts as Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane, and the Hollies, just to name a few.I've been running the stream through iTunes and the playlist is very good. I just heard "My Generation" by a group called "the Bruthers" and it was a decent cover that sounded like it was recorded live. Give them a try if you're into 60's music.
