Former members of ELO and ELO Part II who now call themselves "The Orchestra," are hugely popular in Europe. As their name and background imply, they play songs from both previous bands.
Usually they only tour the UK and the continent, but this year they have a July 17 show in Detroit, at the DTE Energy Music Theater. They've also got a performance listed on their website for The Fort William Historical Park in Thunder Bay Canada. Check under "Gigs" on their site for more venues and dates.
If you missed getting to see ELO play live, give The Orchestra a try. The band features Louis Clark, who did all the string arrangements for ELO along with violinist Mik Kaminski, also from the original band. Kelly Groucutt was also a member, before his recent passing. He's been replaced by Glen Burtnick, a former member of Styx. The remaining members, Eric Troyer, Phil Bates, and Gordon Townsend were the core of ELO Part II.

As much as I love ELO, I have never had any interest in the configurations that excluded Jeff Lynne, who has always been, IMHO, the heart, soul and massive talent that drove the group.
On the other hand, this prejudice has resulted in me never having heard a track from a Lynne-less ELO. Got any? I'd be willing to try...
ELO Part II had a track on their self-titled first album called "Thousand Eyes" that I quite liked.
Hmm. Listened to the samples on Amazon and they do a pretty good imitation.
