More fighting with James

Posted over 4 years ago
Here is how it is. I started this new fight by staying the the song below is the SADDEST SONG IN THE UNIVERSE EVER.It opened up a new challenge. Now, James is a really good guy. I like him a whole lot, but there is no way he can win this fight. Why? Because I am an ex goth who loves country music....He countered with this, which fair play to him, is a pretty maudlin song.I then suggested Trinity Roots with The Little Things, http://www.dubsession.com/video/new/NZ/TrinityRoots_-_Little_Things.htmlbut I think that this song isn't really in the winners circle. It is a damn good song, but not THE SADDEST SONG IN THE UNIVERSE yet. I think The Lioness set the bar too high.He came back with Brand New . A song called You Don't Know, which was way to emo to really be a contender. In my mind he should have stopped with Spritualised.I countered with Emmylou Harris singing Boulder to Birmingham - the song she wrote after stealing Gram Parson's corpse and setting it on fire at Joshua Tree - an awesome song, and for good measure, to absolutely prove my point that my wealth of songs of sorrow, I threw in Subrina by Einstürzende Neubauten:and I get extra points for the weird music video.Today is another good day to be a winner.

  1. Anna says I think the saddest song in the universe is Morphine's The Saddest Song. You can't deny it, it even says so in the title! :) ('tis very sad and lovely, honestly)
