The future is a little troubling

Posted over 4 years ago
Yesterday I took the day off work to wait for a delivery of my new phone and to record some music with a friend of mine and to do some gardening and embroidery and go to karaoke and watch movies. It was meant to be a relaxing mental health day, but it was far from it.i am so excited about my new phone but can I get the fucken thing to work with my computer! ? Hell no! I had this probelm the last time and a few changes to the metaclass things and downloading iTuneMyWalkman and all was fine, but it seems that my software was out of date, so I updated to 10.4.10, which means that my phone's bluetooth isn't supported, so I am pretty pissed and looking for the likely hacks, and instead I see websites that say that USB file transfer isn't supported on 10.4.10. thankfully, it turns out it is, so now i have all the information on my phone and on my computer, but seriously, if anyone knows how to make my bluetooth work, I'll give the The Hold Steady's guitar pick.

  2. FastRMacR says Hmmm - prithee what phone? Which Mac? "Not supported"?! Wha?! If your Mac _has_ Bluetooth then the BT System Preference pane should be where all the setup gold is. Hit that "Devices" tab there and "Set Up New Device" - the assistant launches and lets you pair the phone (entering a trusted passcode for specific devices). Once the Mac and the phone are paired - you can work with sharing and file transfer under the "Sharing" tab (file transfer is either 'on' or 'off', with designated folders for your phone's perusal). I like to keep the Bluetooth status in my menu bar - "Send File..." and "Browse Device..." are right there handy. I have a measly 128MB card in my MOTO SLVR - so I only keep phone snapshots or videos and about 5 full mp3s. I'm not sure if your iTuneMyWalkman is interfering with Apple/iTunes/etc- they've buckled down with iTunes since the iPhone release.
