Ok I do not like everything Ken andrews but...

The best club experience I ever had was in 1996 seeing failure, at my favorite s and m dungeon the squeeze under the las olas bridge...

my brother flew in to meet me, and there it was marrianettes, puppetry, Failure, local H and chains shooting out of the wall.

Great sound such an intimate experience, it is the place where M Manson and Trent R met years before this show after sludging down from boca.

Harry Nilsson - He was the 5th Beatle. Humor mixed with vocal range that couldn't be matched. A Crooner for the Boomers.

Tim Buckley - Pipes. Overshadowed by his talented and equally cursed son. The musical evolution he accomplished is astounding.

Bowie - Artist sensibility in Rock n' Roll. Sure he recycled a lot of contemporary ideas of the time, but they were new to the face of rock n' roll. Plus the trilogy with Eno was so far ahead of it's time it still sounds like it's from the future.

Suicide - This was punk before punk was a description or genre. A band whose name fit them appropriately.

Harry Smith - Not musician per se, but he changed the face of music with his anthology (with a little help of the Asche's, and Alan Lomax too).

Tony Wilson - producer. Overshadowed by people like Specter, he was the new sound of rock n' roll.

Kraftwerk! Jimi Hendrix. Lee Scratch Perry. Plenty more too, but those were the first 3 to fly off my brain...

Geez, where to start?

Wire - The most minimal of the original punk bands.

The Cure - Everyone's favorite starter Goth band.

Section 25 - Really fantastic Factory band, overshadowed by Joy Division.

I know they did a few gigs under the name Mad Hornets Attack Victor Mature, but I'm sure you're looking for something a bit more obscure than that...
