WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

TOO. MUCH. WORK. *BANGS HEAD*

Amélie, ou Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain, has to be one of my favourite films ever. And it has a fabulous soundtrack. Listening to the soundtrack CD makes me feel all warm and glowy, and it creates images in my head from the film, with it's gloriously rich colours, the bright greens, the strong reds.... It also brings back fabulous memories of times spent in Paris, wandering around streets, drinking way too much coffee, talking in poor Franglais, and accidentally becoming part of street performace art. At the moment, I'm setting up a new business, so am having to write business plans, sort out legally things, deal with lawyers and accountants, find a way to make money. I spent Friday night at a photo shoot, I spent Sunday photographing a video shoot, I'm shooting a gig tonight. So tomorrow I'll have 3 sets of photos to process and filter out the junk ones. Bearing in mind I shoot about 300-400 shots per session. I have a new portfolio website to build. I have bands to interview I have interviews to write up. I have marketing strategies to write. I have a festival to prepare for, and a monthly downloadable mix CD for the magazine to put together and put in place. I've had 15 hours sleep in 11 days. Oh, and I have to have all of the above done by Thursday night. Somehow, having Amélie playing through my iTunes, I don't mind working so damn hard. It puts me in a happy place! It just makes me want to hum along....

  2. KezOnTour says I feel like I've been behaving like a kind of English Amélie of late. I introduced my best friend to a guy I know, and they're now all happy and loved up... I arranged for a girl I know to be on the guestlist for one of her favourite bands, that she's never seen play and couldn't get tickets for. *waves magic wand*

  3. sommer face says I love that movie. I'll have to check out the soundtrack. I just watched The DaVinci Code over the weekend, and she was in it. She makes me want to learn French. I submitted my review. Sorry it's so late. It won't happen again. Last week was too crazy for words.

  6. KezOnTour says I quit my day job to work this much. I love it. I don't start "work" until 10 p.m. tonight, and when I do start, it's in a bar with a band who I love, and I get to hang out with all my friends. I shouldn't call it work, really! Photography IS cool. It's a shame I'm so bad at it! Actually, it's not that my photos are bad per se, they're "artistic".....

  7. ConQueso says Ha....artistic...i like to think of my own photographic skills as being very par for the course...or in other words "crappy" Have to love your work...otherwise it's not worth doing.

  8. KezOnTour says Ah, I'm beyond crappy. I'm so bad that it is in fact, art!
