Went to see Robyn Hitchcock at Maxwell's Saturday night. I had previously only seen him play solo, so seeing him with a full band (the Venus 3 with Peter Buck, Scott McCaughey and Bill Rieflin) was an amazing treat. I love a ton of songs and artists to be sure, but very few of them create that awesome feeling inside. One that h

Friday night

Went to Union Hall in Park Slope Friday...had never been...what a great venue and bar for that matter. Shouldn't every neighborhood have a bar where you can play botchi ball?! I think so. The music venue downstairs is intimate, and the stage was jammed with the shared equipment all of to play that evening. The Animators, a long-time favorite of mine (first heard them play at The Songwriters Sh
