I've always been an admirer of Eric Bogle's work. Last night I saw him in concert in Winnipeg - part of his North American 'Farewell' tour - and this song brought me to tears. It's such an expression of loss, and longing, and ultimately hope - and the melody is beautiful. 'But your light still shines/It's one small star to guide me...'It's instantly become one of my 'special' songs.
