Sometimes I need to listen to music that makes me want to jump up and down and go a little nuts. My friend David's band,
Los Abandoned fits that bill perfectly. They just released their new album, "Mixtape" on Vapor Records, and it's a mix of rock en espanol, super hookey guitars and ballsy vocals by their don't-give-a-shit Chilean frontwoman, Lady P. They are just wrapping up a tour opening for Mexico's
Maldita Vecindad, and have opened for Cafe Tacuba, Aterciopelados, Tegan & Sara and Julieta Venegas. If you are in L.A., check them out live 'cause they put on an extremely fun show that is guaranteed to get you dancing. You can hear "Mixtape" on Itunes, on their Myspace: http://myspace.com/losabandoned or at http://www.losabandoned.com/
Los Abandoned plays Aug 12 at The Knitting Factory and Sept. 11 at The Troubadour (both L.A.)
