Pas/Cal

Posted almost 6 years ago
Pas/Cal are a band from Detroit with the perfect songs for this time of year. Listen to "Summer is Almost Here", "The Bronzed Beach Boys" and "What Happened to the Sands" for a whiff of beach-tinged pop magic. They are currently working on a debut album: "Citizens Army Uniform" and the recording diary at http://pascalstudio.blogspot.com will give you all the details on their progress. Right now they have 2 EP's and 2 vinyl 12" singles out. Some tracks are downloadable at the bottom of their website: http://www.pascalgoespop.com/ and myspace: http://www.myspace.com/pascalgoespop. They kind of remind me of newer Belle & Sebastian in that male falsetto, happy yet wistful kind of way.

  1. J-Rock says I got some Pas/Cal from a friend in Ohio a couple years ago... it was poppy which I like, but I found it a little oversweet. Though you have a point: 'tis the season. I'm gonna give it a revisit.

  2. Kate says Yeah, I just take supersweet stuff like B&S and Pas/Cal in doses, or in-between something really wrong like NWA on a mix and that's when I enjoy it the most.

  3. max says Amazing, i love and have loved pas/cal for soo long and no one else seems to have heard of them. It's pure twee pop bliss very much like "math and physics club's":www.mathandphysicsclub.com When We Get Famous, good times, but yes, in doses
