Sonic is still Youthful

So, mind my horrible title but I didn't want to just put Sonic Youth. Well to the meat of this post my thoughts on their new album "The Eternal". At first I came into this album almost ready to hate it and push it off as just another album from a band that isn't that out there right now. And for some time this appeared to be true but than the true power of Sonic Youth became aware to me. The staying power of this album and ultimately the band is that everything works in harmony to make for a great album and than in turn for a great band that has been around forever for a reason. After a couple listenings the sounds of this album just started to seep into my head and the guitar work started to become apparant, were at first both seemed rather throwaway and sounding like other sonic youth sounds. This album is a must for people who like music and as someone who came into this album as one who hadn't listened to other albums or much from this band. If you do listen and do go out and find The Eternal I don't think you'll be disappointed.
