T. Nile, Why Aren't you listening to this?

First Tamara Nile's EP The Cabin is available for a sneak listen on her MySpace page. That said;

T. Nile is another Canuck showing us Yanks how to do slow blues and country inspired Americana with tons of charm and haunting melodies, much the same way Neko Case has blasted her solo career to the forefront as of late.

Not being a huge Country fan myself, I find her mix of modern folk rock and classicly inspired bluegrass ballads to be quite easy on the ears. Vocally I find her more akin to KT Tunstall than the afore mention Neko Case, and venturing into the Soul fueled grounds of Nikka Costa, namely on tracks like Rock What You Got.

Twangy guitars act like a searchlight, bringing Tamara back to harbor when she ventures too far from the good fishing on this EP. Shes us a good sampler, and shows she's capable of much more without outstretching her means, and being overly ambitious. In fact, I find with every consequent listening, I tend to come away with a different favored track, depending on my mood.
