I originally found Boys Like Girls through the internet [like I find every other band] a little over a year ago. It was after I had bought the CD that I realized that my friend was friends with these people. It kind of came as a shock to me because I had been listening to their demos and old recordings for a long time and Martin Johnson's voice has changed dramatically since he was in his previous band, Lancaster. Either that, or the use of professional equipment fixed his voice up a lot. Anyways, for a whole year [!] I got to enjoy the greatness that is Boys Like Girls. Then MTV came along and fucked everything up. It's not that I don't want them to get popular, it's that I hate MTV with every fiber of my being. So, when they started appearing on MTV and the radio, I had to call it quits. There have been too many bands that I liked, and their egos got inflated to impossible proportions [Pete Wentz, anyone?]. I'm afraid that the Boys will end up just the same way.Anyways, here is one of my favorite songs of theirs, not only because it's catchy, but it sends a great message too.
