...is it? The "not a sequel, not a prequel, an equal" to Rocky Horror picture show, the brainchild of Richard O'Brien is a real schlock fest. Barry Bostwick has been replaced by some schmuck, a totally neutered Brad and Susan Sarandon is sudden the meek, shy.. but very showy Jessica Harper-as-Janet. It's a rock musical with a heap of the original cast PLUS! Ruby Wax and Barry Humphries... the music is truly woeful, but I dig it all the same. "Thankgod I'm A Man's" ode to power tools, jocks is actually sorta catchy, with it's tongue-in-something closing "faggots are maggots... thankgod i'm a man" it makes fun, but in a totally unmotivated shock-value sorta way.I had to pull this CD out and listen to it after a Planningtorock track ("Don't Want What You Don't Want") evoked Ms Harper belting out "Carte Blanche" - a total highlight of the film's score.

Putty says i'll have to see if this is an equal after i watch rocky horror for the 50millionth time (never gets old). I still haven't seen it live though; what a shame.

Sethpian says Ugh. What a waste of time and money. The only worthwhile track in that soundtrack is "Shock Treatment" itself. I threw the VHS and the CD in the trash shortly after I got it. I couldn't believe Richard O'Brien would come up with something so bad it isn't even campy. At times it seems forced - like he was trying to create places for audience participation instead of letting it happen naturally. I remain a Frankie Fan forever (lets hear it for the NYC cast!)
