...broadband is squezed back into my machine after 7 months being dark.I'm not listening to much music right now for a few different personal reasons, but have thrown The Rapture's new album on the fire as new, meaningless music to infect with everything that's going on right now.And I really like it - slick and over produced as it is. Digestable pop music that isn't totally engineered without cha
...is it? The "not a sequel, not a prequel, an equal" to Rocky Horror picture show, the brainchild of Richard O'Brien is a real schlock fest. Barry Bostwick has been replaced by some schmuck, a totally neutered Brad and Susan Sarandon is sudden the meek, shy.. but very showy Jessica Harper-as-Janet. Tasmanian born Emma Davidson is in good musical company with her release on Richard D. James' Rephlex records. This was a random buy for me, having a great fondness and respect for alot of artists on the label, it was a 'how could i go wrong?' sorta purchase. The album is pure 8-bit schtick: cute, simplistic but sort of ambitious. Although I rarely listen to it, MOG has made me have a look at some
Coming On Strong is by far one of my favourite albums (sure, I have a few.) In their debut the boys from Hot Chip deliver an amazingly eclectic, subtle record that left me desperate for more. Not alot of people have picked up on my recomendation, but with airplay of "The Warning" (their new LP) picking up, I'm hoping to find a lot more people to rave about this album with.Highlights: the heartbreak
So the Indexing is quite slow, and the site seems to be having a few hiccups. Hopefully an overnight stint will have finished catalouging my library and leave me ready to go…I'm looking forward to seeing this in full flight and meeting new people and discovering a whole heap of great music.
