I don't do lists.

Posted over 1 year ago

I think I get progressively lazier with every year-end list, so in keeping with this trend I'm not even going to bother with albums. These are the songs I've listened to and enjoyed the most this year, regardless of what the album was like (or if it was even on an album), in alphabetical and video order.

Against Me! - I Was a Teenage Anarchist

Arcade Fire - We Used to Wait
Go to http://www.thewildernessdowntown.com/ to listen. It's worth it, I promise.

Best Coast - Boyfriend

Cee-Lo Green - Fuck You (Editor's Note: The feel good hit of the year. No, really.)

Delphic - Counterpoint (The day I trusted Dale on MOG is the day I waved goodbye to any excess funds I'll ever have)

Frightened Rabbit - Swim Until You Can't See Land

Funeral Party - Finale

The Gaslight Anthem - The Queen of Lower Chelsea

Glasser - Home

Gorillaz - Rhinestone Eyes (This was my favorite album up until November, when a humble up-and-comer named Kanye released something)

Janelle Monae - Cold War

Jens Lekman - The End of the World Is Bigger Than Love

Kanye West - Lost In The World (I don't care if you don't like hip hop. This is a seriously good album. Especially this song.)

Kid Cudi - Erase Me

LCD Soundsystem - Dance Yrself Clean

Marina & The Diamonds - I Am Not A Robot

The National - Afraid of Everyone (I think my love for this band is well documented enough 'round these parts, but that won't stop me from posting them again)

Nicki Minaj - Roman's Revenge (There was no doubt in my mind after hearing this for the first time that we can declare her clinically insane. Also, I would kill for a collaboration between her and Janelle Monae)

Spoon - Written in Reverse

Teenagers In Tokyo - Peter Pan

Vampire Weekend - Cousins

Wild Nothing - Golden Haze

Well, that's it. I've posted a lot of these already, but consider it a refresher course. There will be no resolutions for me this year. I'm going into 2011 armed with nothing but good intentions. 2010 was another bizarre year for me, filled with massive highs and crushing lows (as the philosophers in The Hold Steady once said). I hope you all had a better year than I did, and that the next one treats you even better.

"Sweet" is pushing it, haha.  It's the least I could do!  Have a happy New Year, Dale.
