WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Song 5

Dunno how the weather is for the rest of you lovely people, but it is downright freezing in my neck of the MidWest. It's only 5 in the evening, and pitch black. A long night awaits me. I 'm afraid I don't do winters very well at all.
Al Gore, you and your damned global warming have failed me.
But that's where *The A-Sides* come in. They're basically meant for the dark days of winter, guaranteed to fill your life with memories of sunshine and warmth that are only a few months away. Think of them as a hybrid between The Shins and The Flaming Lips, with Brian Wilson making more than a few cameos, all by way of Philadelphia.
A Florida grove sounds pretty good right about now.
Giving out "Myspace":http://www.myspace.com/theasides URL's isn't getting old, is it?

  1. FluxCapacitor says Great find, Jules. Lovely song, great band name and cover art. A home run. I totally hear the Shins here. Love the lazy delivery and confidence with words. And fantastically, they're on "emusic":http://www.emusic.com/artist/The-A-Sides-MP3-Download/11607304.html. I'm always looking for new bands to use up my monthly allotment of downloads. Ta for that. Btw, I recommend a trapper hat like mine if you're cold, it's bloody freezin' over here, too.

  2. dermahrk says That's a trapper hat? I thought it was a Beatle cut. Jules09, this is much appreciated. I've heard OF the A-sides but never heard them, and really liked this. If you post some more, I will certainly listen.

  3. FluxCapacitor says Heh, heh. My Ringo cut is underneath it. ;)

  4. Jammy Jeff says You're right Julia, that song raised the temperature in my living room by a couple of degrees! Nothing like a summer Pop song on a cold winter day. I love the backing vocals on that song. I was 'whoaing" with them. Great find!

  5. Jules09 says Flux - I may have to look into one of those hats...St. Louis is just on the brink of hick-dom that I should have no trouble finding one. Although I may just have to deal with the space heater next to the computer for now. dermahrk - So glad you liked it. And yes, I will be posting more from them in the future, I promise. Jeff - Happy to have helped! They're a very good band, and that album is pretty solid too. You'd probably be able to review it better than I can : )
