Coming home from vacation is always the worst. Not to mention that Sundays and I have never had a good relationship with one another, and the imminent return to school and work. Times like these call for Morrissey. Or rather, the inimitable Colin Meloy of the Decemberists covering Morrissey, coming from his excellent six song EP of mozza covers..
I return to you all feeling much better, less stressed, and with what will hopefully be the worst sunburn I will ever have to endure. I've realized that Cuban food is one of the greatest things on the planet, and that family vacations never, ever go according to plan. And then I saw the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico in a cloudless sky. Crazy.
I'm a little sorry to be back, I admit. But my mind has been cleared and cleansed. It's amazing what a break and a lot of sun can do for a person.
I just wish it wasn't so damn cloudy here.

I love Colin covering Morrissey, and I've always loved this song (albeit I love Sundays, but you know, I get the sentiment here).
I returned from a trip about a month ago and I think I'm still not over mourning it, at least a little. I needed it. It cleared my head and heart, and healed a lot of broken parts of me, but oh my stars I miss it.
Thanks! I'm glad to be home, i just wish it wasn't so...sudden. It will definitely take me a long time to get back in my regular routine. And I love Colin covering pretty much anything, haha. He's one of those rare people that I always want to listen to, he has such a pure and lovely voice.

What do you think of the new Decemberists album?
I have not had the chance to get out and buy it yet, although I have "The Rake's Song" and love it. Do you have it yet? How is it?

Due to certain circumstances, I hadn't had a family vacation in ages. Aww you went and made me all nostalgic now...
