When its a beautiful sunny day like today, this song always manages to creep into my cranium and adds a higher vibration to my day to day. Reflecting back over the years, I've come to have a deep appreciation for Bob and the oh so many classics he penned. Natty Dread is one of those songs that you just can't help but to vibe on and when you do the vibe sticks with you.
Know what I mean?
I do believe this version is kinda rare, so I hope you enjoy it......
Here's something else I've never seen before...
How about you?

Hadn't seen..A tight little version..There's no time that isn't Bob time, is there? Although when I started DJ'ing at a radio sation in the USVI, they only had 2 rules: Nothing from Bob's-Legend or Jimmy Buffett's Greatest Hits was to be played. Considering how often you are forced to listen to those records, even the worthwhile songs can get tiresome. Not that I'm even trying to compare those 2 artists/albums, but down in St. Thomas they are ubiquitous in the tourist spots. Not that having your music symbolize the beauty, peace, and calm of the Caribbean is a bad thing, but please, can we hear something different. Thanks for pointing out how much more there is to Bob. And there is plenty.

That version of Natty Dread was recorded at a club called The Quiet Knight in Chicago, '75. I love that concert, used to have it until it was ripped off. Bob Marley is unlike any other musician - in my eyes. He was fundamentally a simple man, yet he wrote some of the most intelligent lyrics I've ever heard. As he said "Me don't have education, me have inspiration. If I was educated I would be a damn fool." I was only 5 years old when he died, but God do I miss him. This video on youtube is the rarest thing I've come across yet online regarding Bob:
