Something mellow, something paisley. Btw, I tagged this one as soul on purpose because it comes across as very soul-ful to me (but then again, I think Joni Mitchell is very soulful also). I love enginner Susan Rogers account of that session. In case you didn't know, this one was recorded in Prince's house and the (then) re-vamped studio was just beginning to function again. So imagine this: There's a remote feed that went up thru to ceiling to the upstairs floor where the grand piano was being played by Lisa, Bobby Z is in one section of the studio, Wendy's in another section, Eric Leeds (flute)and Atlanta Bliss (trumpet) are in yet another section and Prince.... Well Prince is actually in the corner of the control booth with his back turned and its all cut in ONE TAKE! Pretty cool...
