MUSIC SIGNPOSTS ON THE WEB'S LONELY ROAD

Artist:
Album:
Track: All of them

Every so often I feel like I'm walking through a desert~ it's so hot, so bland, no water in sight and I'm so thirsty.

This is the only way I can describe how I feel when I am so sick of hearing the same old music over and over again. If I'm listening to the radio and Hootie and the Blowfish come on, I literally almost break the buttons on my radio out of frustration and eagerness to get their melody and voices out of my ears. Enough already!!!!

I then crave, crave, crave something inspiring, something that gives me the chills, something that is going to change my life... musically.

I was mentally in the Sahara when a super duper good friend e-mailed me all the tracks to Imogen Heap/Frou Frou's album, Details. The only place I could listen to it was a work and guess what? After listening one time and going home, I drove a little bit faster the next day to get there just so I could listen again... and again... and again.

Frou Frou is my drug right now. Imogen Heap is my needle and yes, I feel like slapping the crook of my arm while tying off the rubber hose using my teeth on one end...

All of the tracks are exceptional, however Must Be Dreaming actually makes me screw up my work because it takes me to another place other than... well, work.

Hear Me Out takes me to the kereoke bar where I wish I could sing like her and watch the audience drool.

Breathe In is so upbeat, yet mellow. Happy-like. The proper way to describe it would be like taking a Vicodin when you really don't need to. After the high is over, you can't get the tune out of your head.

I initially thought Maddening Shroud was sung by two people, but it's actually Imogen using different vocal tracks of her own voice. Duh! No more Vicodin for me.

Let Go is classic. Makes me want to be Natalie Portman, put on something cute and then go make out with Zach Braff.

While this post is all good and fluffy, the only downside to this is that I went to Best Buy to pick up the CD, apparently you can only get it online. Bummer!

Yeah, it's great. I suspect that with Imogen's current success, this CD may be re-issued and back in stores before too long. She really is a breath of fresh air.
