Ears vs Brain

Posted almost 5 years ago
You know thise songs where your brain says you shouldn't like it, but your ears say you do? This is my current conflict, tell me what side you are on. (for fairly obvious reasons my eyes have sided with my ears)What songs do you like even though your brain says they aren't your "thing"?

  2. petenema says I've got this conflict over Kylie Minogue. I know, I know! What am I thinking? It's the same thing, Ears vs. Brain. My brain says I shouldn't like it... but I do.

  3. Joxley says Blair, I see what you mean..and is it just me or do all these conflicts involve attractive ladies' music?

  4. MaximoGirl says Ears say Push The Button by the Sugababes but brain says "No no no!" you're right Jox they involve attractive ladies which is worrying for me because I don't go for women!

  6. seanlandis says My ear-brain conflict also involves "attractive ladies' music," but my eyes actually side with my brain on this one: t.a.T.u.'s "All the Things She Said." I hate everything about this act. It was created by a Russian marketer explicit about his interest in tapping into popular desire of watching underage lesbian pornography. So the "attractive ladies" image of the duo only serves to remind me about what's wrong with marketing. That being said... it's such a catchy hook!

  11. MyNameIsRed says That tune was ace. My ears said yes and my brain said hell yes. However, I have the same ears/brain conflict regarding most songs from most musicals. Particularly I'm thinking 'On My Own' from Les Miserable. I can't justify it.

  13. Mike the Knife says That goddamned "Wind It Up" by Gwen Stefani. I weaned myself off it, but it was sickeningly infectious for a while, despite my great contempt for it.

  15. audiophile says :embarrased: when you work somewhere all day listening to muzak then you encounter issues like this. Hung up by Madonna is actually a bright spot in the muzak filled day. My brain says hell no, but my ears tell me otherwise. I think in this instance it may just be a case of me deciding between several evils and making a choice of the lesser.
