Impressing people with unbearably hip mixes.

Posted over 5 years ago
The other day, I ran into a cute girl from my school I had met last year. We worked together doing the sound design for a student-written play, and now she's working at my favorite hamburger stand in Santa Cruz. While talking and catching up, she reminded me that we had promised to make each other mixes of music we like for each other, and never did. I told her that next time I came in to get a hamburger, I would have a mix in my hand.So here's what I whipped up: I like it so much I thought I would share it with Mog. This mix is perfectly engineered; it's all music I really like, much of which I have raved about on here in the past (and of course, bands like Tapes N' Tapes and TV on the Radio just make me seem that much hipper), but it's all music I think she will like also, rockin' but also a little creepy and atmospheric (to give you an idea, one of her favorite movies is Heathers and she writes poetry.) A leaked Decemberists track she probably doesn't have her hands on yet should seal the deal.I'm just trying to decide whether to leave on the very last track. Too forward? You be the judge: you can download the Revolting Cocks song "here.":http://jorobot.multiply.com/music/item/1"Ridiculously Hip Mix for Cute Girl at the Hamburger Stand."1. 1. spaceling says Go for it! (I don't think you can get more forward than trading mix tapes, in any case. It's about as delicious as writing poetry to each other!)

  3. Heggs says Mix tapes in general are a way of saying "I like you", a cover of Do Ya Think I'm Sexy isn't what makes it obvious! Best of luck to you though, I know a good mix can win over many hearts.
