From The Observer newspaper comes news that Lily Allen has had a run-in with US Immigration while entering the USA from Canada. Crossing from BC into Washingtom at 2AM, US officers stepped on board and confiscated her citrus fruit. Then they asked the tour manager to step off the bus for a word.
Officer: "I can smell pot."
Tour manager: "There's no point in denying it, though we have just come from British Columbia, where it's decriminalised."
Officer: "That is true. Just be careful in the future. This could give us a reason to tear the bus apart, wasting your time and ours. Oh -- and can I have Lily's autograph?"

Gotta love the rules when crossing the canadian/us border. No fruit, vegetables, plants or meat can make the crossing. When I was coming back with my wife, they confiscated my sandwich because it had Canadian beef in it. Also, one winter when we were going to visit her parents for Christmas, we had to open all of our gifts at the border, just to make sure we were not bringing too much into the country. Since then, we always make sure everything is itemized by the time we get to canada.
