Still in 1973 (or maybe '74) and The Wailers are on tour with Stevie Wonder. All three singers get to strut their songs and after Bob my favourite has always been Bunny Livingstone. If you only listen to a handful of reggae, then Bunny's 'Blackheart Man' should be on that list."Battering Down Sentence" is a masterly work of sophisticated rhythm and equally sophisticated conscious lyrics. 30 years later and I still love hearing Bunny's beautiful voice wrapping itself like silk around lines like "hustling's the only education I know" and "brought before judge and angry jury".Bunny left The Wailers on a winter tour of Britain in 1974. They were up north, it snowed, and Bunny was convinced - seeing snow for the first time - that this was the work of the devil. He was on the next plane back to Jamaica. The tour was cancelled and the next time we saw The Wailers on stage was when Bob unveiled the new lineup on the stage of The Lyceum for that amazing live album.
