Ian Stewart in the wings.Feb 1966 on Ed Sullivan :- Satisfaction - Would you let your daughter go with a Rolling Stone?1973 on a stage :- Streetfighting Man - “I never listen to white drummers because white drummers don’t swing, except for Charlie Watts.”

  2. ivylander says Agreed, DMDM, but until (in my judgment) "Goat's Head Soup" they were authentically unpredictable and larger than life. They had mojo oozing from their pores. It's hard to believe it to look at them now....

Jonh Ingham says If they can bring themselves to wind down from the stadium shows, which surely must happen before Charlie reaches 70, and go low-key in smallish venues, it could become really interesting in the same way that Muddy Waters and other r'n'b/blues guys were interesting at that age. I find myself going back to these vids and old live shows because they do have a mojo that is totally larger than life. I'm going to pull out some of the live tracks I've got and mp3 them on multiply and here - stunning examples of live at its best. And quite a lot from the 80s and 90s.
