Posted about 1 year ago
The music business is constantly going on about how they need to get customers to "realise the true value of music". Is this what they mean? This is The Spice Girls comeback single, spied in the CD rack of th elocal supermarket.

  1. John Madden says and it's still overpriced... I know, I know... I'll go finish my saucer of milk now.

  2. Spike says Either they're charging us too much, or they're charging us too little. When are they going to get it right? ):):

  4. Bartleby says Are you serious? The Spice Girls are available at Tesco's -- the supermarket which employs them as sales-reps? -- Collusion or not collusion. The pricing model for music is a bit of a week-end holdall: clear and neat but ultimately confusing when one looks inside.

  5. ivylander says This of course has nothing to do with the cancellation of the Australian, Chinese, South African and Argentinian legs of their reunion tour. Or the fact that 99 percent of the world doesn't give a rat's ass anymore. (Though I do think that "Spice World" is one of those genially idiotic pop movies that actually wears pretty well if you enter into the bargain expecting nothing....)

  6. Jonh Ingham says Bill - I was going to mention that aspect of their reunion, but it seemed churlish. I too like Spice World. Putting aside one's musical preferences it goes nose to nose quite ably with the Ramones' excursion in the genre.

  10. brendanhalpin says Well, I did read or hear somewhere that the crowd at the Spice Girls reunion tour was "MILF Central." So I guess there's that.

  12. Mike the Knife says As they say, "In for a penny, in for a pound." And all of this on the heels of the news that the Spice Girls are doing the theme song for the new reality TV show "MILF Island" - the latest brainstorm from NBC exec Jack Donaghy (who, I might add, looks suspiciously like Alec Baldwin).

  13. Jonh Ingham says Michael - this is a joke, right?

  14. Mike the Knife says "MILF Island" was a bit on the current Tina Fey/Alec Baldwin/Tracy Morgan sitcom "30 Rock" - the rather hilarious lampoon of American network TV set backstage at a weekly sketch comedy series. But I was compelled to toss the Spice Girls into the mix...
