The Hedrons (Glasgow, Scotland)

Artist:
Has anyone heard of the Glasgow, Scotland-based, all-female power-pop quartet The Hedrons? If not, you should definitely give them a listen.I had the very good fortune to see The Hedrons perform four times in New York City last year. They are a sensational live band. The Hedrons—which feature Tippi on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Rosie on lead guitar, Soup on drums, and Gill on bass—also happen to very cool people. They really seemed to enjoy talking to the fans that came out to the NYC shows last year. The Hedrons released their debut album, titled One More Won’t Kill Us, last year and are currently working on the follow up. In 2007, The Hedrons made three separate visits to North America. They played SXSW on their first American tour and played some shows in support of Social Distortion on their third stint in the States.Back home in the UK last year, they played a few festivals, including T in the Park and the Isle of Wight. The Hedrons also served as the support act when the reunited Sex Pistols performed at Glasgow’s SECC last November. You can watch the band talk about themselves and hear snippets of their music by clicking below:The Hedrons are on the Web at:http://www.thehedrons.comhttp://www.myspace.com/thehedronshttp://www.bebo.com/thehedrons

Wait - Tippi Hedron, you say?
Lol! Obviously a nickname - as its a takeoff on the actress best known for her role as Melanie Daniels in Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds.
