The Manchester building housing Legends nightclub, formerly The Twisted Wheel of Northern Soul fame, looks set to be demolished to make way for a modern motel.

But worry not (yet), planning permission has yet to be granted, and if granted, at least the architects are sympathetic to the site's historic plight (she wrote, with a hint of sarcasm):

"The historical significance of the site has been brought to our attention and our client has agreed that somehow in the development there will be a plaque in recognition of The Twisted Wheel."

In other words, you might want to get a Twisted Wheel date in between now and the end of the year, just in case, 'cause after that there may only be the memories left.
