Speaking of populist and irreverent/irrelevant, I noticed Toni & Guy hairdressers got rid of the pulp mags in their salons in favour of their own, more 'upmarket' glossy; read how they ridicule what they refer to as 'geriatic rockers' on one page, then flick a few pages further to find out 'how to get the Iggy Pop look using T&G products'. Which reminds me of another great band logo:
