MOG @ LinkedIn (II)

In order to allow MOGgers to further connect with each other on a professional level, last November I created (with permission) a MOG group on the world's biggest business network LinkedIn (see http://mog.com/Jo/blog/230227).

To join this group, log in to (or create a new profile at) LinkedIn and then continue to http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1180987 and click the button to join this group!

My reasons for starting this group? Like I said, LinkedIn is currently the biggest online business network on the web. Social media are growing in number and importance every day, and I hope this LinkedIn group can provide an additional platform for MOGgers:

• To advertise their MOG profile and posts;
• To extend their personal and professional networks;
• To advertise themselves for any professional (career) opportunities they may be seeking;
• To advertise any professional (career) opportunities that they may wish to consider fellow MOGgers for;
• To help fellow MOGgers extend their personal and professional networks;
• To post requests for sources, resources, information and so on they may need for their future MOG posts, MMN blog posts or other music-related publications they are working on;
• For anything else this LinkedIn group may prove itself suitable or useful for to MOGgers.

Two months on from the start, I would love to see more members, and more active interaction, so if you are on LinkedIn and have not joined the MOG group yet, please do!

Recent additions to the group contents include a listing of other music-related LinkedIn groups that may be worth joining if music is your (desired) career.

Group content is only accessible to group members, and I realize some people may just want to 'lurk' rather than visibly expose themselves as members, worried they may receive 'invites to connect' they don't want to receive. Group members can express within the group whether they want or to receive open invites or not, and if fellow members are found out to repeatedly break rules like these, they will be removed.

Nevertheless, if you're still worried but would like to have a look inside the group drop me a PM right here on MOG and I'll arrange something.

Also, from now on I'll try to re-post group updates right here on my MOG profile as well, so you know what's going on (or not).
