A comparison to Wilco A.M. is the best I can come up with.... The first 9 songs on this record are about as a good as it gets, they are true melodic gems.... It's the collection that makes this record on of the strongest debuts (they did have 1 earlier record, but I believe this is viewed as the 1st record of consequence), since no one song in tracks 1-9 is clearly the best track. The remaining tracks on the record are decent, but feel more like afterthoughts.... Enjoy. Btw, they turned into Louis XIV, unfortunately, because the Convoy sound was much more genuine and timeless....
