A comparison to Wilco A.M. is the best I can come up with.... The first 9 songs on this record are about as a good as it gets, they are true melodic gems.... It's the collection that makes this record on of the strongest debuts (they did have 1 earlier record, but I believe this is viewed as the 1st record of consequence), since no one song in tracks 1-9 is clearly the best track.
