Here it is, childrens, the tenth day of 2007. "How is 2007 going?" you ask. "Fine," I say, "but I need some new music to ring in the year."2006 was Brightblack Morning Light and Joanna Newsom. Nonetheless I am not really a freak folkster. So now I need something with bass lines! Can anyone help me?

  2. Kinoshawk says Does it have to be new? I'm still getting over my 2006 music hangover. If you want relatively new, go with the most recent album from the Roots. If you want old school bass lines, how about A Tribe Called Quest's first one, __People's Instinctive Travels And The Paths Of Rhythm__.

  3. watchbatteries says bass lines... hm. well, there's Ad Astra Per Aspera, but I wouldn't say those are "bass lines". well, you should check out Pharaoe Monche, whose name I'm sure I just fucked up.

  13. Rawkkiddoh says Jess and Satisfied, there are two albums out by Felt. Its a colaboration between Slug from Atmosphere, and Murs. The first album is called Felt:A Tribute to Christina Ricci, and the second is to Lisa Bonet. Both are quite solid if you like atmosphere, mf doom or aesop rock. Great party music, and great bass lines.

  17. mickimicki says ... as a general fallback option I'll throw in my favourite bassline of all times, which is old and obvious but still 'Fresh': Sly & The Family Stones "If You Want Me To Stay". (My 2 Euro-Cent. And btw, our money is _really_ called Euro-Cent. Pathetic...)

  20. Steverd says Thanks for givin some love to my mogspace! I checked out Brighblack Morning Light, pretty cool! I dunno what kinda bass lines your lookin for, but if you dig oldschool, Del tha Funky Homosapien- Mistadabolina and De la Soul- Ringringring are pretty sweet, plus the Midnight Marauders album from Tribe Called Quest rocks too. A nice light blue jogging suit with some white kicks and matching headband would fit nicely...

  23. Lester Jonze says Miami Bass Was/is a series of CDs that came out in the late 80's early 90's which were really nothing more than discs full of different series of bass tones made into songs for people who designed large stereo systems for small cars. There were/are competitions around the US to see who can rattle the most windows, houses, etc, to see how far down the street you can hear these folks coming. Obviously not a big thing now. Back in the day, though, a lot of underground hip hop artists/DJ's in the South Florida scene made their names coming up with Jams for these competitions. Not what you were looking for, I know, but just another piece in my quest to kick it with the cool kids here on MOG. By the way, I hope your holidays went well, and I hope you have vanquished the great rodent plague of 07
