Nooz from the Underground: BASSNECTAR ON OM

Yo kidduns, lovers of the break and the glitch! You know who loves ya, and you heard it here first: Lorin (Bassnectar) just signed to Om Records. He's got a full-length release planned for March 2007, which will combine Lorin's trademark twisted beat production with a heavy hip-hop influence.Lorin explains that he began this project in order to explore hip-hop's role as a vehicle for "musical revolution" and social change, as well as to support the current resurgence of community and independent media in global culture.In Lorin's words, the project will be "a hybrid blending of bassmusic for dancefloors and sonic experimentia for dreamfloors, all twisted up with hyphop influence and the madness of my mind [and the minds of my friends!]"In other words, it's gonna rock.Keep your ears down too: the underground is bubbling with news of a West Coast tour in February... ...and of course if you're in SF this weekend you really can't miss House of Lotus with Lorin, Dhamaal, Cheb i Sabbah, and just about anybody who fucking rules.
