El Perro Del Mar

"This":http://www.myspace.com/elperrodelmar is the perfect rainy day music. And no, not because it's dreary and depressing. Rainy days don't want depressing music, trust me, I'm from Oregon. Rainy days are depressing enough in themselves. Rainy days want something that fits the atmosphere, yet gently lifts you up in spite of it. Not too sad, not too happy, just nice, pretty, full, warm and hazy. Soothing, serenading music that says: "Yes, dear, it's dark and rainy and it's going to be dark and rainy for many months to come but, don't worry, everything's going to be Okay anyway. Everything's going to be just fine."Thank you El Perro. You are too kind.

  3. ookpik says I never thought of this as rainy day music, but I can see it. Good call! My recent rainy day pick has been Erik Satie's Gymnopedies and Gnossiennes (solo piano good times), but I should give El Perro Del Mar a try. It has been rainy here for days, and it will be rainy for many more.

  8. LadyC says really dying to save up and get this album. she was going through a very introspective time when making this album and found herself unable to go out and began working on the music isolated for about a year. this must be the reson the album sounds and feels so intimate and private.
