I promise I'm not dead

I only got a full-time job, which is debateable about the not being dead part, I suppose. On the up side, my job entails working with the events industry in Chicago. I have to go to parties and such as part of my job. I know, it's horrible. But I'll do it as I must to ekk out a living in these trying times. I was able to take in a free (Happy 60th birthday, Puma!) show at Metro a while back. The h

When it rains it pours

Golux13 and I went to the Wire show at Metro last month (yay!). While the show was quality, the duration was sadly lacking. With doors at 9pm and an opening band one might expect to still be enjoying live music at, say, 12:30 am. Chicago was, evidently, the last stop on the tour. The crowd was stupifyingly sedare. Look, a trend

Another show I'm not seeing. Definitely not a trend of which I am a fan, that's for certain.Sons and Daughters played tonight at The Double Door. A raucous band at a really fun venue. If you went please don't tell me. Actually, I would love to hear it was a fantastic show and the band was incredible. Maybe that way they'll come back so I can see them.

Yeah. So my friend's band is playing at Six Flags Great America this Saturday (you should totally go, it would be so much fun!). I won't be there because, evidently, I'm a responsible adult with a family and a job. Bummer for me. An amusement park known for its roller coasters and a friend's band. They play once every hour from noon to 6 pm! Red Letter Kill. Go. Have fun. Please, do it for me. Oh

Better late than never?

Almost a month ago (yikes!), I went to see the original line up of X at Metro, which is one of my all-time favorite places to see a show. The opening bands were pretty good; one local, one Australian. (I didn't see the local band that night, but I have seen them in the past.) Exene, Billy Zoom, John Doe and D.J. Bonebrake were spot on. Seriously, if I closed my eyes I was transported to an undiscl

What I'm currently listening to...

...is not necessarily for listening to with your kids. According to the younger, "That's a little creepy, Mom. But I like it." And the elder just looks at us both and walks out of the room. So, there you have it. Two editorials, both succinct and fairly effective.from Wikipedia:Burial is the working name of an anonymous dubstep musician from London. Burial's eponymous debut album was released in 20
