Genius

Posted over 1 year ago

This album was my first taste of the genius known as Aaron Funk. Mr. Funk aka Venetian Snares, with this recording has created a masterpiece in my opinion. The blend of Classical strings, and programming, is well, the best thing I've heard in recent history. I've always kind of been the type of person to stray from any sort of bandwagon, and my Venetian Snares endeavors have been no different, whereas I'm just now discovering Mr. Funk. I honestly don't know where he stands in the world of popular music. I also however, don't care. I like listening to music without any pre-conceived notions.

Honestly, on a side note, my first knowledge of Venetian Snares came through Myspace, back in the days when there were still humans on it. I think, if I remember correctly, getting a friend request from a guy from Canada who went under this moniker; Venetian Snares. I had no idea who this was, and never bothered to listen. I really should have. Getting back to the point. I LOVE this recording. Hell, my wife even likes it. I'm sure my son will learn to love it as his own. May the snows of the Great White North unleash many more great recordings from Mr. Funk and his, in my opinion, genius musical mind.

To sum it up: Classical strings, progamming, IDM?=an album that will be in my headphones, and singing through my Heresies for years.
