No:477 THE BEAT - I JUST CAN'T STOP IT (1980)
I always believe that The Beat were THE most underated of the Two Tone/Ska bands at the time. They combined genuine reggae with super sharp Clash style riffs to create top rate dance floor chaos. This album was brimming with great songs, and although they never quite re-captured the essence that made "I Just Can't Stop It" such an invaluable album, they left a superb memento of one of the most creative periods of UK music.

What a great live band they where, saw them at Hammersmith Palis and my favourite tune at that time was 'Mirror in the Bathroom'

I haven't seen them since the 80's. I've heard that Rankin' Roger's son sings for the band now.

Classic! Mirror is such a great song as is Best Friend. Isn't that Dave Wakeling?

As fantastic as "Mirror In The Bathroom" is, this is the song that gets me hopping every time.

August - Yeah Dave Wakeling was the main vocalist and writer. I know that they've reformed, but I'm not sure that Wakeling is involved anymore.
Michelle - I thought you dressed like that girl on the Go Feet record label who adorned all their albums.
Flower - I didn't get to see them in their pomp, but yeah I can imagine they were excellent live.
Dale - Great record, what a superb bassline. Thanks
