No: 485 GANG STARR - STEP IN THE ARENA (1991)For me, those first few years of the 90's were the most breathtakingly experimental years for Hip/Hop. Artists weren't afraid to try anything, and the influences of Jazz, House, Funk and Hard Rock were filtering into everything. Gang Starr boiled up the Jazz influence until there was just a raw essence, just enough not to detract from Guru who delivers his distinctive, hypnotic rhymes with confident ease. The pair have done some excellent recordings over the years, but personally, I always go back to "Step In The Arena" as their definitive statement."Just To Get A Rep"
