As I'm new to this mogging business (Hi by the way), in a moment of self congratularity I decided to start putting together a mix tape of new and old stuff from my album collection. I've been reading Mog for awhile and Brakes were a band I read about here and felt suitably impressed enough to go and buy their latest record "The Beatific Visions".I started with "Cease Or Desist" because the song was released yesterday, the album is sheer class, and it rocks my socks. Do I need any more reasons to open with this ?

They're a mash up of members from the bands British Sea Power and The Electric Soft Parade. The album was recorded in Nashville (if memory serves me correctly) and it mixes Indie Rock with some mild country influences. It's good stuff.
