2008: The Year Of Delays ?

Posted about 4 years ago
I'm really hoping this year will see the long deserved breakthrough for Southampton 4 piece The Delays with their third album "Everything's The Rush". I've followed them closely since their debut single "Nearer Than Heaven" in 2004 (posted above). The song remains one of my all time favourite singles. Don't you love it when a tune makes you shiver ?Lost In A Melody

  4. Lady Miss Ian says Hi Jammy - I've been busy plowing through your best of posts, but wanted to drop a comment here. What a sweet, shimmery sound. Very nice. Reminds me a little bit of the Cockteau Twins. What label are they on? Or do they self-release?

  5. deadmandeadman says That would be an impressive track from _anyone_ . That its a debut is amazing. The second track is equally impressive. Yeah, I'll check these guys out.

  8. Jammy Jeff says Dachmo - Thanks Marigold - February/March I believe. Jules - "Lost In A Melody" was from their second album.Glad you liked it. Lady Miss Ian - Exactly. They're often compared to The Cocteau Twins which is incredible when you realise it's a guy on lead vocals. They're on the Fiction record label (same as The Cure) Deadman - It is an amazing song and I still cherish it as much as the first time I heard it. Dale - Let's hope the new album is a goody. Neill - I agree, the second album was a step backwards, but I've still got every hope the new one realises their undeniable potential.
